Which is the Best Buy iPod

Thinking which iPod to buy? Well, there are a lot of options for you to choose from. The iPod was earlier only audio, then it went on to become a media organizer allowing even photos and videos to be managed on it, and now it has taken the giant leap of having a touch screen interface too. So, it is definitely quite difficult to make a choice of what the best buy iPod would be for you.

What I will do is, I will list below the various iPods that are available today (many of them have been discontinued by Apple) and their prices. This will certainly help you to make a choice of which your best buy iPod can be.

iPod Shuffle
This is the most basic piece, with just audio capability. You have the 1 GB and the 2 GB versions here, and they can store 120 and 240 songs respectively. Don't expect this basic iPod to do anything else. They are available in silver, turquoise, blue, purple and red. Understandably, the prices are quite low. The 1 GB version is priced at $49 and the 2 GB version is priced at $69.

iPod Nano
This is quite a rage nowadays, especially in the teen crowd. It is a little more than a basic piece, and it has some bit of video capacity too. There are two versions again, the 4 GB and the 8 GB versions. The 4 GB version is good for 1,000 songs, 3,500 photos or 4 hours of video, or a little bit of each. The 8 GB version has double of all these capacities. Since most people will hardly go beyond this capacity with the songs and the photos, it is a good buy. However, the video capacity is a disappointment. At $149 and $199 for the two versions, perhaps, you might want to give the iPod Classic a closer look.

iPod Classic
This is certainly our choice for the best buy iPod. It is available in two versions, the 80 GB and 160 GB versions, and has astounding capacities of storage. The 80 GB can store 20,000 songs, 25,000 photos or 100 hours of video. That's truly amazing, and the 160 GB has double of all these capacities. Compared to the Nano, the price of the Classic is not quite high at all. The two versions are priced at $249 and $349 respectively. Trust us, this is your best buy for an iPod.

iPod Touch
Buy this one only if you are a gizmo freak. This is the touch screen iPod with a big screen but disappointing capacities of storage (at least in comparison with the Classic). It is available in three versions, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB and the 8 GB is good only for 1,750 songs, or 10,000 photos or 10 hours of video. The others have proportionate capacities. At $299, $399 and $499, we certainly don't feel they are worth it.

The iPod Classic (either 80 GB or 160 GB , depending on your budget) is the best buy according to us.
