Epinions The best cheap, err.. inexpensive laptop available

by  lawman67, top reviewer in Computer Hardware ,  May 21, 2006
Pros: Fast, slim, terrific keyboard and all the modern Apple features
Cons: glossy screen has a lot of reflection, looks cheaper than the black
The Bottom Line: The best bang for your laptop buck, PERIOD. The iBook is completely forgotten.
Review: Yesterday I posted a review of the black MacBook (h ttp://www.epinions.com/content _232258440836) and ultimately came to the conclusion that while it is a beautiful machine, it isn't for me. At its $1500 price point it ...

by  gogoose16,  Jun 18, 2006
Pros: Overall look of the computer, lightweight, virus free, great programs
Cons: Battery cord, the edge of the computer is a bit sharp
The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a new laptop, this is your winner right here.
Review: I've been using an IBM laptop or some form of a PC since I was first able to use a computer, when I was about 5 years old. I'm a junior at North Carolina State University and decided it was time for a change. I did a lot of research and was originally ...

Epinions I've used both Microsoft and Linux operating systems. But Mac is now my favorite!

by  photog87,  Dec 13, 2006
Pros: light-weight, no viruses, good battery life, able to run Windows
Cons: Safari quits, lack of good word-processing application out of the box.
The Bottom Line: There are Windows, Linux, and other users. But Macs get the best of ALL worlds. Plus it has that sweet "aqua" interface.
Review: After many years of switching back and forth between various Windows operating systems, as well as Linux (RedHat, SuSe, etc...) mainly due to my dad's (and mom's) computer habits, I was finally free to make my own computer choices! I appreciate Linux ...

Epinions PC Convert Loves Mac!

by  italianeleganc,  Aug 17, 2007
Pros: Virus free, Magnetic power cord, Garage Band, iPhoto, iTunes, iDVD, can watch movies, comfortable keyboard.
Cons: Must purchase programs for document prep (ie. Pages or Microsoft Office for Mac $$$).
The Bottom Line: We will never own a PC again. We have wholeheartedly converted to Macintosh and highly recommend it over every other system out there.
Review: This was our first Mac, our first laptop and our first stress-free computer experience. We learned about Mac after our fourth PC crashed....yet again. The Mac takes some getting used to, however it is very easy to adapt to and is more than worth the ...

Epinions If this doesn't convert PC users, what will???

by  imaggie,  Nov 25, 2007
Pros: Light, drool worthy, easy to use, packed w/great programs, still love it after a yr

The Bottom Line: Buy a mac, once you learn how to use one you'll never go back.
Review: Yes, I'm a long time Mac lover. This is my 4th & 5th mac (yes, I loved it so much I bought a second so I didn't have to share with my kids). (And by the way, I still own 3 of those 5 macs, I only sold the other 2 because I felt guilty owning 5 computers ...

Epinions Affordable little powerhouse

by  squirlee_t,  Sep 21, 2006
Pros: small, thin, relatively lightweight, fast startup and computing, tight resolution, battery life, screen brightness
Cons: integrated graphics. all plugs on left (it awkward dude), Glare in some places
The Bottom Line: This computer is good bang for its buck. If you look at similarly-priced pc laptops, you'll see this one is just as fast/feature-laden. Truth.
Review: I just got my 1.8 ghz mac mini yesterday and I already know it is the best computer purchase i've made. First of all, after you have used it a couple of times, it starts up extremely quick. Much quicker than my $2000 powerbook did when that was new. ...

Epinions Lovin it way too much!

by  fam600,  Dec 7, 2006
Pros: OSX rocks, especually when it's on a laptop.
Cons: 512mb of ram defeats the purpose of dual core processing.
The Bottom Line: Please! Do yourself a favor and get the better valued 2gz model that has 1gb ram preinstalled, 20 more gig HD, and faster disc drive.
Review: First of all let me say that PC laptops suck. I mean it, i'll tell you that when people say Mac OSX is better than XP, you better not get arrogent on them because you need to use OSX for a week to experience what they love. No fancy 0x00000d1 crap in ...
